PIP Home Assessment was created by David Wright
Good morning. I'm having my PIP Home assessment on Monday 12th by Capita. Reading a copy of the DWP's PIP Assessment Guide, under the section "Cases that should not require a face-to-face consultation" it states that claimants with musculoskeletal conditions such as awaiting major joint surgery should not undergo a face-to-face consultation. I have been on the waiting list for a total knee replacemeet for over two years and have been told that it will take place sometime this year.
Should I contact DWP/ Capita to point this out or shall I go ahead with the assessment. Any help will be gratefully received. Thank yo .

I am afraid that this is guidance only, the initial paragraph states "should not normally" and that cases should be determined individually.

If you have been invited to attend an assessment then Capita are specifically saying that they cannot make a recommendation based on the PIP2 form and any evidence attached.
