Mandatory Reconsideration for PIP

I had a medical assessment for PIP in October and submitted a letter requesting mandatory red consideration. I just received a letter saying that I am not entitled to PIP payments, even though I didn't get another medical assessment. I thought if I requested a MR I should get another medical assessment before a decision is made??? What do I do now?

I am afraid that you are mistaken, the DWP do not carry out a new assessment of the claimant as part of the MR process.

Your only option in regard to your original PIP claim is to now lodge an appeal.

Have a look at our PIP MR & Appeal guide for more information.

If you have any questions, then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.
