Moved from Support group to WRAG after interview was created by taryn
I have been in the Support group for 2 years -but after a recent medical (laughable name for it) I was moved to the WRAG on the grounds that my original inclusion in the support group was based on a poor decision! I now have a WFI with the job centre - despite the fact that I cannot sit down comfortably or walk more than 100 yds. However I am also in receipt of a PHI from my employer who still hold my job open but who are satisfied (based on an annual assessment) that I am not fit enough for employment. I am now confused as to what this interview is for. Technically I am still an employee of my previous company who have given me plenty of support and are able to offer me rehabilitation when I am ready for it.
I'm wondering how much pressure the job centre are able to apply to force me back into work before I am ready - and whether they are able to liaise with my employer without consulting me?
You can call me paranoid but that's what years of dealing with the benefits system does to you!

I am afraid that as you are now in the WRAG your attendance at WFIs is mandatory and your benefit can be sanctioned if you fail to do so.
Your JC+ advisor has limited access to your computer records so it is quite likely that they are unaware that you are still employed, however, being in the WRAG is not about seeking work, you are not required to do this, but rather preparing you for a return into the work place, so they may still have things for you to do as part or Work Related Activity.
If you want to challenge the Decision to place you in the WRAG then you can request a Mandatory Reconsideration, our ESA MR & Appeal guide explains the process in more detail.

You will need to show that you meet the SG criteria, I am afraid that your being to walk 100m or sit comfortably are not sufficient reason for you to be returned to the SG, a full list of the SG criteria are in our ESA Claim guides, also on the above link.
