F2 F capita assessment was created by mrs osteo
Hubby has a f2 f assessment for 7th Jan .He was granted high mobility and high rate care 2 yrs ago with no assessments . We received a letter asking us to phone and request our PIP form on 18th dec .They seemed to ask a lot of questions on the phone and asked if it was ok to use the info we first gave on the DVLA form .Hubby said yes as nothing had changed . Form arrived 3 weeks ago for transferring to PIP ,we duly completed form and received reply straight away for an F2F assessment .He is 66 and we gave them all consultants reports and meds and appointment letters etc so don't know why they have requested this ? It is a home visit as he cannot make stairs and needs access to toilet . Should I mention that I am needing to now claim as I am struggling with severe osteoporosis in spine and hips and an underactive thyroid ? Would love a quick reply as they are due to come in morning !

Hi,

Welcome to Benefits and Work :)

If your forum name is also your real name, you may wish to change it to maintain some anonymity.

This can be done quite easily by following the instructions on this FAQ :

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

The qualifying criteria for DLA and PIP are totally different, this is why it is advantageous to use our : PIP Claims Guide. (2nd Link on page) when filling in The PIP 2 "How your Disability Affects you" Questionnaire.

It is quite normal for a PIP F2F Assessment to take place where The Assessment Provider, (Capita or ATOS) feels that they need further information before they can make recommendations regarding what level of PIP award you may be entitled to.

Capita do tend to carry out PIP Assessments in the home, so there is nothing unusual there.

The PIP Assessor will not really be interested in any disabilities or limitations that you may suffer if they are there to assess your hubby.

However, there is no harm in you providing input with respect to your hubby's disabilities/limitations and how they affect him on a day to day basis.

If you feel that you qualify for a PIP award in your own right, then you would have to make your own claim.

If you have a look at Page 64 onwards of our : PIP Claims Guide, (2nd Link on page) it will give you some idea of what to expect at the assessment.

Feedback from members thus far regarding Capita PIP Assessors has been pretty positive.

Please do update us, and feel free to pose any further queries that you may have by replying to this topic.
