Please bear with me as I have cut and paste this.
I applied for PIP for my dyslexic and another medical January req backdating to Oct 2013. Sent my dyslexia report and other hospital letts. DWP had to come to my home to help me with form as I could not complete PIP form (bright white paper was causing severe headaches). ATOS face to face medical in December. I was absolutely distressed as I tried to explain my other illness and cried throughout the whole assessment. ATOS medical person tried to get me to to reading test (bright white paper again!) and I refused. They also tried memory test by asking me to remember 3 words after 20 mins! I was fatigues for days after. Recd decision letter xms eve on bright white paper in small font. All words just looked jumbled. spoke to them after xmas, person on phone said they would 'read' lett to me over phone (but no mention of my other medical) and request decision maker to call me. No information on file about backdating - none recorded. Recd 49 page lett from housing benefit that I had been awarded PIP but speaking to them, their notification has no award so must be error!! Spoke to PIP again today, advised me to make appt with CAB to get lett read (local one closed due to no funding), had to request copy of lett in large print. Is this normal?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

If it will help you on the forum you can change the size of the text used in posts by clicking on the Tr button in the row of icons above the smileys.
I am afraid it is not clear from your post what has happened with your PIP claim, whether an award was made or not?
If no award was made or you feel that you deserve a higher one then you can request Mandatory Reconsideration of the Decision, our PIP MR & Appeal guide explains the process in more detail, if you have questions about it then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.
If your question is about the problems you are having in communicating with the DWP then you can ask them to make reasonable adjustments to how they provide you with information, this can include providing letters in larger print or on non-white paper. You need to write to them about your needs and explain what would be an acceptable format for their letters.
