Hi
I've been getting esa for several months now. I called them today about a text I had received saying they had dealt with my last fit not and no more were needed until further notice. I wanted to know what this meant? I was told I had been put in the support group without a medical and wouldn't be assessed again until November. Anyway, I was told the amount I am getting is £123.70 per week. I put in a claim for pip months ago and was turned down flat due to not attending an assessment. I had called them explaining I'm agoraphobic among other things twice before and also sent in a drs letter stating the fact. I'm 10 weeks into a mandatory reconsideration. I've been informed today that they are waiting for evidence from me, assumingly because I had updated them about my conditions a week or so earlier.
Can I get a copy of the ESA report to send to pip? Would it be worth it? I have until 20th Jan to send in evidence or they will make a decision anyway. I'm sending a current prescription. Test reports, appointment letters etc. Is there anything else I can do?
I suffer with a list of issues that include mental health issues such as depression, anxiety and agoraphobia. I also think Im suffering with PTSD from all the issues I've had in current years, several of which were, and still are very traumatic. fibromyalgia which causes a host of symptoms such as constant pain, sleep issues, problems with memory and cognitive function to name a few! moderate gastritis and bile reflux, which makes me vomit most mornings and causes constant nausea, this has drastically affected my health and I've lost 2 stone because I have trouble eating. sacro iliac joint distinction, which affects my back and makes walking difficult. I suffer with severe fatigue but have sleep issues. I can't remember things, get confused and have trouble understanding or taking things in, although this happens most of the time and sometimes I'm ok (like now when I can manage to write all this!)
Does anyone think that all this means I have a good chance of getting PIP? Also how far do they backdate? Thanks for any help given, it's very much appreciated

Whilst there are some similarities in the criteria there are also considerable differences between the criteria for ESA and PIP, it is unfortunately perfectly possible to be placed in the SG of ESA and not meet the criteria for PIP at all.

If you have already lodged an MR for your PIP claim, then you need to deal with two issues, first your non-attendance at the assessment needs to be dealt with; you really need your GP to confirm in writing that you could not have attended, if you cannot do this then it is unlikely that the DWP will find in your favour.

Once you have dealt with assessment then you need to show that you meet the criteria for a PIP award, your ESA report may help, but is unlikely to result in an award on its own, if you have not already done so then you need to review our PIP Claim guides.

If your MR overturns the Decision not to award PIP and one is made then it will be backdated to when you originally made your claim.

If you have any questions on the above then please reply to this post and we will try to be of assistance.
