esa work related group HELP!!!!! please!! was created by littlemiss
if you are in the work related activity group of income based esa and claim for a partner who gets carers allowance for a disabled son who gets dla at highest level,
can you sign off esa and have the partner claim income support as the main claimant for both people?.
or can you change the current carers allowance claim into the main claimant of esa claim what would happen??

Yes, it should be possible for your partner to claim IS and to name you on his claim. However, we would advise you to get face to face advice before doing so, you can ask for a 'better off' calculation from CAB for instance.
Where to get advice?
You might also want to consider your NI credits which count towards your State Retirement Pension. These will be paid for you while you are claiming ESA but not if you were on your partner's IS claim.
If you have any further questions, please reply to this post as it really helps us if everything is kept in one place. You will find it easily in future if you bookmark it/make it a favourite on your web browser now
