Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Matt
You say that you have not submitted an application, could you explain this in more detail, as your wife is currently receiving DLA she cannot be assessed for PIP unless she made a claim and completed and returned a PIP2 form.
I'm sorry, but your wife cannot score points for the Going Out activity due to physical problems with her walking, these issues can only score points in the Moving Around activity.

Thanks for your reply.
Now you've opened a can of worms Gordon! I am wondering whether this is a PIP assessment after all!
My wife has never filled in an application for PIP. but she has received a letter telling her that she can expect to be switched from DLA to PIP anytime from 2015-2017.
Looking back at 'loose ends" is appears about a year ago she received a letter about her SDA, saying they needed to carry out a "Limited Capability for Work" assessment, she filled in a form and forgot about it, Now I am wondering if this appointment is to do with that? We assumed it was for PIP?
The appointment letter is Headed "HEALTH ASSESSMENT ADVISORY SERVICE
PIP Is not mentioned, but then neither is SDA - it simply says "We have been asked by the DWP to carry out an assessment in relation to your benefit claim"
Now we are even more confused!

If the appointment is with the Health Assessment Advisory Service aka The Centre for Health and Disability Assessments then it is an assessment for ESA.
The fact that you mention SDA would also confirm that it is ESA as all SDA claimants are being transferred to ESA. If she completed a form, it would have been an ESA50, some time ago then you should have a look at the following FAQ
Invited to a face to face assessment but no ESA50 sent or sent some time ago
You should also look at our ESA Claim guides as the criteria for ESA is very different from that for PIP.

Thank you so much for that!! I am so glad you raised that question.
A relief in some ways (as we know the car is not at risk) - but in others, its still any day now.
Many thanks Gordon.

Appointment was11.30am - just now (10.40am) received a phone call saying it is cancelled due to assessments running late and we will receive a new appointment over the next 10 days.
My poor wife is a nervous wreck
She was born with her disability, it's not going to get any better. Absolutely sick of this. it feels like we are on trial!
