Compliance Officer Interview was created by Julie
I have been asked to go for an interview with a compliance officer, my partner works
as a casual gardener since being made redundant, he also does a milk round 4 hours a week.
We have sent all the relevant documentation but it not straight forward hours, do you
think it could be to do with this. Also i have access as a signatory to my mums bank account
as she lives in spain. Can i be questioned about this.

I am afraid it could be one, the other, or neither and something completely different, all I can suggest is that you can try calling the compliance officer to see whether they can give you a heads up about what they want to talk to you about.

If you have provided details of all of your circumstances promptly then there should be nothing for you to worry about.

Best of luck

Gordon

Only the DWP call some of their staff Customer Compliance Officers. Local Authorities and HMRC use different job titles, e.g. Housing Benefit Officer or for HMRC they're Investigation Officers.

They are not part of the DWP Fraud Team, but sometimes are asked to do preliminary visits if fraud is suspected. They also investigate if claimants are receiving the correct rate of benefits, and in many cases I was involved with, benefit was increased.
