ESA and PIP

I noticed in another post that the ESA and PIP claims process are seperate. This is interesting as recently my PIP medical moved me into the ESA support group from IB. (I am pretty sure as the letter came soon after the medical and when I asked the reason for the support group designation it was due to the nurse who did the PIP medical putting me in a certain group.

I also felt she knew quite a bit more about my history of illness than just from my PIP application and wondered if she had my previous paperwork from IB. It was for the best really as she had a lot of information. many thanks

For me, I had filled in an ESA 50 nearly a year previously but had remained in reciept of incapacity benefit until the letter about the support group arrived 3 days after the home visit for PIP. It was the same nurse who assessed me was then on the letter sent out to me regarding the reason I'd been put in support group with the evidence detailing recent letters sent in support of the PIP claim which had not been available with the ESA questionnaire. Just for info. It helped me, BTW, as didn't have to go through a stressy medical again and qualified on one of the support group criteria alone.
