DLA awards made before the claimant is 65 will continue once they meet State Retirement Age providing that they continue to meet the criteria, however, as you are under 65 now, you will at some time be invited to claim PIP, even if you are over 65 at the time, providing you are successfully transferred this too will continue past 65.
Neither DLA nor PIP is affected by whether you are receiving your pension or not.

There are currently no changes to the announced timetable for DLA to PIP transfers, however, the result of the next General Election may change this.

Just something we have found out today, re hubby on ESA and reaching state pension age in December, dwp pensions people advised us that their system has recently changed and anyone who is currently on ESA or A N Other benefit "should" automatically be switched on to their state pension, and instead of receiving their pension 4 weekly like people who are not on a benefit, their state pension will now be paid every 2 weeks as per their previous ESA payment, to try and help their budgetting,
