PIP reassessment was created by carmind
client was awarded PIP in May 2014 (enhanced daily living and mobility)
Now being re-assessed.
Is this the usual time scale for re-assessment? Seems very soon to me!

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

I agree, it is very soon! You would think the system could be better served by dealing with the backlog rather than reassessing people who have already been through the process once.
DLA used to have a minimum of 1 year before reassessments but I don't know if/what it is for PIP, maybe Gordon wil enlighten us

AS Mrs H has surmised the minimum PIP award is one year, you say the award was made in May 2014, when did it apply from?
We do know that several members with two year awards have been asked to re-apply a year before the end of their award, it took then nearly a year to get the award so they had just had an opportunity to enjoy the award when the renewal letter dropped through the door. Following this through to a one year award, I would expect the renewal forms to be included with the Decision letter.

The award was back-dated to the beginning of this year, when the application was first made. However, it was awarded until end of 2015. Obviously that means nothing!

I believe that PIP Decision Letters do notify claimants that their award will be assessed a year before the end of the award.
The office are investigating this, but at the moment we are not aware of any challenge that can be made against an early assessment.
The only positive aspect is that with PIP assessments still taking the best part of a year it is actually a good thing as hopefully a new Decision will be available before payments stop at the end of the award.
