WRAG to Support Group was created by oldman
Was on esa wrag contribution based which ended august 2014, not entitled to income based. Big surprise on saturday when I received a letter stating that due to changes in circumstances I would be in the support group from June 2014, back dated money and over £100 per week. Reading the letter at the end it stated that the change was due to being given pip enhanced in both categories. Has this happened before?

No you are the first where we have seen this happen.

PIP and ESA are supposed to be classed as independent benefits and it has so far been DWP policy not to allow a result for one benefit to affect the award of the other, as long it is done for positive reasons then this should not be an issue, but I hope that it does not signify a return to the old days of DLA and ESA.

Congratulations on your award, your ESA(CB) will remain in payment as long as you are in the SG.
