DLA Renewal Form completed ... Now PIP ... was created by Jasmine3234
Hi I received my DLA renewal form mid September even though it isn't due until early Jan 2015.
They told me to fill it in ASAP, which I did with a lot of stress and upset which always comes with this. My Dad sent it recorded post for me and they did text to say they had received it but it could take upto 11 weeks to process.
I rang to chase it up yesterday and the person I spoke to said that it hadn't even been looked at yet.
So when I received notification from yourselves today that another 4 postcodes had been chosen to go over to PIP I just knew mine would be one - it is.
I phoned DLA again and they basically said that by the 17 Nov 2014 I could receive another form to fill in for PIP. I asked if this was so, even though I had spent hours filling in the DLA renewal. All she could advise was to fill in the new PIP form, but I would receive DLA until that decision was made.
I am so stressed with just waiting for a reply on the DLA renewal I filled in and now they drop this on you.
I wondered if you have any advice or help???
Thanks x

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

The lead time for an invitation to claim PIP is 20 weeks which you are well past, so they DWP should process your DLA renewal as submitted and hopefully make a new award, they should not be processing DLA awards ending before March 2015 (approximately) in the new postcodes.

Thank you, that is the way I read your news about the new postcodes.
However when I phoned DLA they said I WOULD receive a PIP claim form to fill in as from 17th November I am in the postcode "L"
So Im really stressed out now.

I can only repeat what I previously posted as this is our understanding of the "transfer" process and in particular the 20 week lead time, it's not impossible that we are wrong but our experience of the DWP call centre staff suggests that not all of them know what they are talking about!

Hi
Sorry if Im being a bit dense here, but when you say 20 week lead time, what exactly does that mean?
Sorry.
