Fabulous effort by Atos

So, I actually got 8 days notice of my Atos appointment for PIP assessment, which I thought was pretty good going all things considered.
So, this weekend as well as visiting a dying relative I prepared myself for the assessment. Then I got a 'talking to' at work for having "too many medical appointments and time off".
I turned up at my appointment 15 minutes early, was shown into the room and told that.....
"The man who was supposed to do my assessment is ON HOLIDAY (not sick or called away for an emergency but ON HOLIDAY) and I would have to rearrange for another time".
I am fuming....................

Hi K8,
I can understand your dismay !!

Unfortunately, this is quite a regular occurance.
Many people have their face to face cancelled just before attendance, or on attendance due to staff sickness, holidays, etc.
It is even all the more annoying in that ATOS have admitted in the past that they sometimes double book F2F assessment slots to ensure a steady flow of assessments.
You could complain to ATOS :
E-Mail : This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
You might wish to e-mail them to make it clear that this cancellation should not be put down to you, in case you cannot abide by the rearranged appointment that ATOS will now make.
You are only allowed to rearrange once, so make sure they admit that this cancellation was their fault, and is not put down as your one allowed rearrangement.
