support group query

hi, just recieved letter to say my mum has been placed in support group from ib (many thanks for advice on this site!) but i am now worried that she will be financialy worse off. she currently recieves £188 per fortnight income support and £217 per month ib. the letter she has recieved states she will now get £123 per week esa, but does not state any top up amount, which i thought was a legal requirement so her benefit would remain at the same rates as she is currently recieving on ib? sorry for the long post, i would appreciate any advice you can give me.

Congratulations on Mum's SG award !!

As she has been successfully transferred over from IB/IS to ESA, she will be covered by Transitional Protection.

In that, she cannot receive any less than she was receiving previous to being transferred to ESA, although one may receive more :

As The SG decision notice letter does not include the prognosis, (the recommended period before reassessment) you should be able to obtain the prognosis by ringing the telephone number on the letter. They should have it on-screen.
