PIP MR was created by Suebnm
I applied for a PIP mandatory reconsideration on 01/05/14. I originally got enhanced mobility and 6 points in care. I phoned again today and it's still not decided. My MP did contact me 2 weeks ago and asked for my NI number but nothing since. On this occasion I have asked for a call back which is a 5 day call back reluctantly because of the enormous hassle and untruths the last 2 times, I have also now had my CB JSA sanctioned because of my disabilites and so literally just have the mobility PIP to live on.
Is there anything at all I can do about the mandatory reconsideration at all, would a formal complaint help please? I feel over 15 weeks is extremely long and unreasonable and I am now really suffering - although I am aware DWP can keep me waiting as long as they see fit.

You can make a formal complaint but it is unlikely to speed the process, that does not mean that you should not do so, your best bet is to chase your MP, you could remind him that Esther McVee announced in the House of Commons that the DWP were hoping to turn MRs around in two weeks.

I think this is the extract from Esther McVey that Gordon mentions :
"If no further information is needed and the case is straightforward, the mandatory reconsideration process for employment and support allowance could be completed relatively quickly. We would usually expect this to take around 14 days, but it could take longer. For example, if further information is needed, the law states that DWP have to give people one month to provide it and this may be extended further at the decision-maker's discretion, so cases like this may take longer."

This quote is for ESA, can I use it for PIP? I admit I haven't read the whole thing yet so it might be I've just misunderstood - in fact very likely given my state of mind! If it does cover PIP then the DWP are way out of their league.

I don't see why not, there should be no appreciable difference between an MR for ESA and one for PIP, they both have exactly the same process and it is unlikely that the level of evidence that would be submitted with an ESA claim would be significantly different from a PIP one.
