Yep I know however I recently helped someone who had been repeatedly over the phone informed that a re assessment was to be due this year, hence giving the person a lot of grief waiting for the latest ESA 50 to come thru the door.
I initiated a letter to be sent asking for a SAR and lo and behold it arrived and the next assesment date in writing is 2016 June.
Those being told dates over the phone by the 'call centre' staff - as I kindly call them !!! will say any load of balloney to claimants just to keep them in limbo and of course nothing to do with the 'call centre staff' just trying it on with the claimants who are distressed enough as it is without them playing god/ games.
So I still believe it is a good idea to ask for an SAR if it is feasable to obtain one
Hi PSM,
I agree, using a SAR to obtain the relevant docs and prognosis is a good idea.
However, as I think you know, the prognosis is only a recommendation of when the next reassessment should be carried out.
By law, a reassessment can be carried out anytime after 3 months of an award.
If you have the prognosis in writing, it does give you more ammunition to fight with, if they try to re-assess you too early, but unfortunately, if they still insist on an early re-assessment there is not much you can do.
