My daughter currently receives DLA this is her journey so far
1 Feb 2014 invited to apply for PIP
12 Feb forms sent back
9 May capita home assessment
13 August phoned DWP for update was told still not received report and was advised to ring Capita for an update as taking to long for report to be written / sent.
Phoned capita and was told the report is still be compiled as it is complex and should try ringing in a couple of weeks.

Seriously is this normal? It surely shouldn't take this long to write a report we sent loads of evidence in to support the claim my daughter has cerebral palsy

Even now, 16 months in to PIP, many assessment reports are still subject to audit, also one of the problems that has emerged with the process is that the DWP significantly underestimated the time it would take for an assessment and to produce the report, consequently, both ATOS and Capita under quoted and as they get paid per assessment, their is considerable pressure on assessors to keep their appointment rate as high as possible.

Three months from assessment to the DWP receiving the report is not unusual, although totally unacceptable, I am afraid there is little that you can do to expedite the process. as even contacting your MP won't make the assessor type/write any faster.
