Hi I am appealing against the decision that placed me from support group to wrag. Just to be sure. I sent two copies of the same letter. the mandatory reconsideration request letter to Chippenham benefit centre and also one to my local jobcentre where I had my medical. I did post these 8 days ago by standard post but after contacting my local jobcentre to ask if these letters have been registered with them they told me they have not received them.

goodness. sake How long does it takes my local jobcentre to open my letter and register it on the there system. Today, just to be double sure I printed out the letter again and sent recorded delivery to Chippenham and also delivered one letter by hand to my local jobcentre. what are they playing at. why does it take so long for them to register my letter on to there system?

There is no point your sending letters to your local Jobcentre Plus office, they don't deal with Mandatory Reconsiderations, your letters should be sent to the Benefit Centre that deals with your claim.

I don't know whether the Chippenham office is covered by the Wolverhampton Mail Centre or not, but the DWP internal mail system is extraordinarily slow and it can easily take 10 days for a letter to be registered on their system.

It does somewhat make a mockery of the idea that MR's can be dealt with in a couple of weeks when it can take this long for a request to get to the right department.
