Went to Notification Compliance Interview,
I have worried since letter arrived 2 weeks ago , despite the advice of this forum saying don't worry.
Arrived early as I always do for any appointment,(just good manners to be there on time) was kept waiting 20 minutes past my appointment time, her explanation was that the computers were not working , but sat in site of several advisers using computers with other benefit claimants, all of these computers working.
I asked her why I have been called,as I know I have not done any thing wrong .
My husband was with me and informed that we have an ISA WORTH THOUSANDS OF POUNDS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Well that was news to us , apparently HMRC said we have thousands , we both sat there just looking at each other .
No matter how many times we told her we didn't have an ISA she wasn't convinced , now we have to go to the bank ask for statement to say we don't have these savings.
It has been a very stressful day .
Told that due to her calculations I owe DWP MONEY ,
Oh why are people with genuine health conditions persecuted by this government .
When she looked at my details , she said her husband had my condition making it sound like it was a bad cold that you get over, I didn't comment on this , why should I , my condition is not going to get better .
So for any one out there that gets one of these letters proceed with caution .
Nearly 60 having worked all of my adult life , but in the last 4yrs been treat like I am a none person is degrading & very depressing .
If it wasn't for my beautiful daughter I would just take my pills and end it all .
Yes sounds dramatic but I am sure that there are others that feel like me.
Oh well best get ready for the next brown envelope telling me how much I OWE .
Oh the joys of having to ask the government to help you , never mind you worked since I was 17yrs old.
So that was my experience of the Compliance

Sorry Mary, I tried - unseccessfully - to join your new topic onto the older one. In doing so I have managed to change the title of this one without moving it anywhere.
Must try harder
Anyway, thanks for letting us know how things went. That must have been suich a shock for you!

It was a horrid experience and made me and my husband feel dreadful, but I am sure we are not alone , but it doesn't make it right .
Just waiting now for the next brown envelope , oh how luck are we.
Thanks for listening.
