Dear B&W
Ref: PIP
If one is early 60's or up to 64 and is awarded any PIP
payments: is it more likely that one would get a longer award? if the conditions are long term unlikely to get better some contributory to age etc/
than if one was younger:?
so for the older person what is the likely length of awards ?and that you have heard about?
and also would reassessments likely to be face to face say after one wards and so on?
thanks
also I have heard that some people are in my local area in the south are getting DLA still to
renew? Does that sound right?
My age is as above and my awards is indefinite
thanks

Hi apples,

PIP has not yet been rolled out nationwide for people who are currently on DLA, the process is well behind schedule. In 'non PIp' areas (according to post-code) DLA recipients will be currently reassessed for this benefit rather than being invited to apply for PIP.

With PIP being so new we don't have enough experience to know how older claimants are being treated and we would be foolish to try and guess how future reassessments might be conducted.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
