PIP Home appointment due from Capita was created by ianheadland
I wonder how many people out there have had their Capita home appointment? Mine is set for next week and despite my mental health occupational therapist going to be present as well, I am scared witless at the whole process. My panic attacks, barely containable at the best of times are becoming worse. I suffer from severe depression and PTSD as well as high blood pressure. I last had an assessment which was for ESA about two years ago and I have read that Capita are little better than the awful ATOS. I even read online that one claimant's home assessment simply went through the PIP application with her word for word and she just read her replies from her own copy of her submission.
I know these people are 'trained' to look for anything and everything but if all they are going to do is simply go through my submission line by line, it seems to be just duplicating everything. I trust my Occ Health therapist but I cannot help but feel utterly panic stricken.
have any people out there any details of their assessment that may help alleviate my worries?

As PIP is so new, I personally have never been present at a home medical assessment.

However, see CAPITA - HEALTH AND WELLBEING it should be of help I hope.

Hi I,

In the main, feedback from members who have had a PIP Capita F2F has been positive, in that the assessors have been professional, polite and courteous.

There is some information on what to expect on this page :

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip#claims

In particular, see Page 65 onward of our :

"Guide to claiming PIP
76 page guide to PIP claims and medicals."

Which is the 2nd link down.

Please keep us updated.

See also these videos on youtube on PIP medicals. Not sure if they're by Atos or Capita or both.

Thanks.
