Yes this was my first claim for esa. They also sent me an esa1 to complete last month which I did and after recommendation from yourselves I put on the form reinstatement of original claim but it seems they have maybe misunderstood. I will call tomorrow and let you know what they say

Update: spoke with customer manger today and she informed me that I had been put in the sg from 21st April 2013 and not march 14 as told by call centre staff so my benefit will start to be paid from May. With ref to arrears apparently owed I have got to write a letter explaining that I did inform them of my pension and hopefully they will overturn and I will get backdated lump sum

Thanks for the update Badders, I am glad that the date of award is sorted, I hope that the backdating issue will also be resolved to your satisfaction.

If it hadn't have been for the advice from you all I would have taken for granted the info given by the advisor at the call centre

I feel very sorry for people who do not have anyone to tell them that they have recieved bad information :(
