Whether you can go abroad and how long for are a different issue from a claimant informing the DWP that they are doing so.
Just because a claimant can go abroad with their benefit does not mean that they are exempted from notifying the DWP that they are doing so.

The PIP residence and presence conditions are the same as those for
Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Attendance Allowance (AA) and Carers
allowance (CA).
The way I read this we should be able to go abroad say for two weeks with out letting the
DWP know.
