Hello I am still waiting for my PIP face to face assessment...I just want to ask if I need to request letters from my GP, Physio, and Psychologist so that I can take it with me on my face to face assessment?...because I only enclosed appointment letters and hospital correspondence when I submitted my PIP2 form. Please advise...thank you.

Providing medical evidence may well increase the likelihood of success. However it is possible that the DWP will simply accept the assessment report over your evidence. It will not necessarily avoid the necessity of appeal. This mean you may have to request further evidence for appeal to specifically challenge or undermine any points made by an assessor.

Obtaining one set if medical evidence is likely to be difficult yet alone two. It depends on how supportive they are and how happy you think they will be to provide letters for you. You may wish to wait to provide evidence in case you have to appeal.

However if you do obtain evidence I would keep the originals and get three copies of each. Take one copy of each to the assessment, send one to Atos or Capita and one to the DWP. I know this sounds like overkill but there are possibilities of evidence going missing at every stage and it is quite a common occurrence. Plus don't forget to put your N.I no. on each letter.
