My DLA Care runs out on 20 May 2014. The Mobility is" indefinate" The DWP got my renewal in Feb 2014.
They have already written to my gp, who has replied. I know its crystal ball time, but do you think I will have an EMP visit? I receive high rate of both.

Hi P,
I am afraid it is impossible to predict an answer to your query.
It is a fact that ATOS no longer carry out medical assessments for DLA except for under 16 year olds.
Sorry, I don't have a crystal ball.

Hi P'
"It is a fact that ATOS no longer carry out medical assessments for DLA except for under 16 year olds."
I do not think this applies for NI, as PIP has not yet started there.

So I afraid that it is back to "Crystal Balls"

Can DLA remove an award on renewal without an EMP visit?

It would be unusual to remove an existing award without a face to face assessment, but there is no requirement for one to be done as there is for ESA, so if they believe the claim form and any submitted evidence do not indicate an award then they can make a Decision based on this alone.
Of course, if this was done they would be opening themselves up to an appeal!
