I would expect it to be months, so a Fit Note written today will start on 11 March and finish on 10 June, however, you should check how the GP has completed it just to be sure.
Most GPs are willing to provide a renewal in advance, so don't wait until this expires before getting a new one, as the DWP payment system automatically suspends payment if there is not a valid Fit Note on record, also they no longer remind claimants that there current note is about to expire.
