PIP Assessments & ATOS

I have applied for PIP and I live in London. I am reading that ATOS is not re-assessing those currently receiving ESA and that claimants are being "reprieved".
Can anyone on the panel say whether this does not apply to new PIP applicants? In other words, is the regime of more or less calling in all new PIP applicants still in place?
And can I ask if PIP assessments include a physical exam, like ESA assessments?
Thank you

The current problems with ESA do not effect any other benefit including PIP.
There is a basic physical exam; joint movement, muscle tone, basic eye test, perhaps blood pressure.

Hi A,
The suspension/deferral of reassessments by ATOS that you refer to is only for current ESA award recipients.
Nothing at all to do with PIP.
However PIP claimants are suffering huge delays in receiving assessments and decisions
Although it is possible that some PIP claimants will gain an award without the need of a F2F the majority will undergo a F2F.
There is a section on what to expect at your PIP F2F from page 63 onwards of our PIP Claims Guide :
PIP Claims Guide. (2nd Link on page)
