ESA50 12 months on

In March 2013, I received and returned the ESA50. Apart from a routine compliance interview in April (which passed without incident), I heard nothing else until the end of May, when I received a four-page letter, which began "We have looked at your claim again following a recent change". The rest was a breakdown of benefit which, as far as I can tell, was no different from the stock letter earlier in the year that noted April's changes.
I've heard nothing since. Bit flummoxed now - are they really a year behind responding to ESA50s or was May's letter a response?

My guess is that the letter was in fact intended as a Decision Notice, but the only way to know for certain is for you to contact the DWP, whilst it is unlikely that that you have gone 12 months without a Decision being made, there are claimants who have.

Hi OB,
Although possible, it is improbable that they would not have made a decision on the reassessment circa March last year.
The letter that you received in May could well have been due to the fact that you had been reassessed and remained in The SG, but I can't say so definitively.
You can ring the DWP 0845 number on the ESA letter. If you have been reassessed and kept in The SG, they should have it on-screen along with the prognosis of any new award.

I was sent ESA50 in June 2013 to migrate from IB - ESA, heard nothing until late January when asked to attend face - face assessment and only got decision letter last week, 8 months in all,
Seems long waits are the norm at the moment and now assessments being suspended for some may only add to the delays ?
Good luck, hope you hear something soon,
