Can someone explain why for ESA(IR) there are only an Enhanced Disability, paid for Higher Rate DLA in issue and Severe Premium. when living alone and no Carers allowance being paid but for Income Support and JSA (IR)there is also a further basic disability premium paid when middle rate Care or Higher Mobility is in issue. I realise that there is a Support Component of £34.80 but the Disability premiun for a couple on IS/JSA is £44.20

The Disability Premium is not payable with ESA, but is intended to be replaced by the two main ESA components e.g. the WRAG or the Support Group, even though the amounts are different.
For your information the Enhanced Disability Premium is also paid if a claimant is in the Support Group while receiving ESA(IR) in part or in whole.
