ib to esa forms was created by Maximus
In Feb 13 I was told (following asking for DWP reconsideration of decision of June 12 placing me from long term IB to ESA WRAG) that DWP decision was now changed and I had limited capability for work.
Whilst waiting for decision I attended a work interview at JC and chap said I had over the years done everything asked of me and more to try and get back to work (which I have) and not to worry about returning to see him.
I today received letter from ATOS asking me to complete ESA50 but then goes on about converting from IB to ESA!!! I was under impression I already had?
These forms fill me with dread (even with your wonderful guides) and even though I know this will have been asked before - and hope I wont be deleted - as it is very hard to find answers to these topics on the forum as so many are on the go - I have gone through many pages looking for similar threads and felt this one seemed to fit but didn't answer my question.
Is it the norm to get ESA50's more regularly now than when on IB? I cant get appointment with welfare adviser until January (questionnaire due in 10 days) and I'm struggling through the writing on my own as my 'secretary' (son) has now moved out of family home! This is very hard with carpal tunnel and hand/wrist arthritis. I just am unsure whether this is a normal time span for getting me to fill in ESA50 or whether the letter is thinking I haven't yet been migrated to ESA?

Hi Maximus,
It is the cornerstone of the welfare reforms that claimants will be subjected to periodic reassessments. ESA can be reassessed at any stage from 3 months up to 2 years (WRAG) or 3 years (Support Group). The reassessment period does not form part of the decision and the claimant is not routinely advised of this although we do suggest that our members contact DWP to find out.
It seems that ATOS are still using up their stock of old letters as you are certainly not the first person to be confused by this!
As always, you should make good use of our ESA guides when filling out the ESA50, you can use the PDf version if you prefer.
ESA claims and appeals
Using The PDF Version Of The ESA50 Questionnaire
You should make sure that the form is completed and submitted in good time,I'm afraid that DWP/ATOS will not allow any leeway for the holiday period.
I suggest that you bookmark this topic so that you can find it easily in future, then you can return here to ask any further questions.
