RESPONSE TIME TO ESA FORMS was created by Wolf1
My partner has been put into the ESA support group twice during the past 16 months.
Exactly two months ago he had to send off yet another form, but so far has not had any response. Last time there was a letter from the DWP confirming the benefits and that letter arrived about 5 weeks after having sent off the ESA form. After two months and not having had any reaction at all, can we now assume that he is still in the support group or de we have to wait for any “official information”? Many thanks for your help/ regards, Wolf

Hi W,

Longer than average delays are currently being suffered.

Have a look at my post from last week :

You should receive a letter from the DWP when a decision has been made. Until a decision is made the Support Group rate will continue to be paid.

You could contact ATOS :

Or, the DWP by ringing the 0845 number on any ESA letters.

Just to clarify the fact that you have not heard anything does not necessarily mean that he is in the Support Group. It is simply possible that they have not got round to making a decision yet and any decision they make could be the same but won't necessarily be. However as Bro says you should continue to receive the same payments until a decision is made. Getting in touck with them would be a good idea.
