If you were already 65 or over on the day personal independence payment (PIP) was introduced in April 2013 and you were already getting disability living allowance (DLA), then you will not be affected.

You will continue to receive DLA in the normal way and will not need to transfer to PIP.

If you were born after 8th April 1948 and you are still receiving DLA, you will be asked to move to PIP if your current award ends or if you report a change of circumstances.  You can also choose to make a PIP claim voluntarily.  If none of these situations apply, the DWP will eventually select you to move when they re-start the random transfer of remaining DLA claimants to Pip.  However, there is currently no timescale for completing this.
