The Commons Work and Pensions committee has written to Stephen Timms asking to be told:

  • What the arrangements are for the co-production of the Timms review?
  • How will the Timms review interface with the Disability Advisory Group?
  • Who will be involved in the Timms review and will they influence its terms of reference?
  • Are there going to be cuts to the overall PIP budget as a result of the review?
  • Even if there aren’t cuts to the overall PIP budget, will it result in cuts to some disabled people’s PIP.
  • When will regulations for the new Right To Try Guarantee be laid?

The committee have asked for a response by 17 September.

Here at Benefits and Work, we strongly suspect that the response from Timms will be late, dismissive and will contain almost no concrete information at all.

This is particularly the case as we strongly suspect that Timms doesn’t know the answers to half of these questions himself.

Another prime example that democracy is an illusion.

All politicians are career politicians, all seeking their own goals to curry favour with whom ever is in power and the “party”

Surely he should be held accountable especially if he misleads or out right lies to the committee and he should be made to tell the committee who the people and organisations are,  surely they can trust the committee. it's not on if the whole lot have a card to play with contracts jobs or employers who put the rules in to practice( to suit themselves) is totally out of order and the voting public should have it checked, as timms has lied and totally mislead even in parliament, the ministerial code is not worth the paper it's written on as the loophole's the mps use are ridiculous. all over these reviews and still don't tell the truth or even put the advise on to use and continue  on as they please. it's stick box same as usual, this should be stopped
