As it stands, it is proposed that when Universal Credit is introduced the disability element of Working Tax Credit will be abolished. However, there is likely to be some transitional protection for claimants already in receipt of the disability element of WTC on conversion to UC, but the extent of the transitional protection is as yet unknown?
