So pleased for you. Winning with ME/CFS seems virtually impossibly. If you have a spare couple of minutes, what advice would you give to people with the same conditions. I'm sure we would all be interested to know.

Marie,

I just followed the advice in the members area and tried to be descriptive as possible when asked about my mobility and care needs.
The only advice I can offer is when you are describing things use examples anybody would understand.
Rather than say your legs always feel heavy say it's as if you're walking through treacle. Heavy to a normal person is not heavy to an ME/CFS sufferer

I have a question myself.

I rang the DLA helpline a few minutes ago and briefly explained my appeal had been allowed.
By my amazement the chap I spoke to was aware of this and said that they will be sending me a form in todays post to fill in before I will get any payment.
I asked if I needed to notify other people (I'm on ESA, child tax credits etc) and he said that because I currently have no award it's best to wait until my money 'starts to filter through'

I asked what the form was for and he said it was just for some information to establish a few things at the time of application.

Can anyone tell me what form this will be?
He did seem quite blasé about it all giving me the impression it was nothing to worry about, but still...worry I am!

Hi,

I only letter in similar circumstances I can think of at the moment (albeit there could be other reasons quite legitimate) is in the case where no, or incorrect bank details have been supplied and the DWP request confirmation of the bank account the arrears and future payments are to be paid into.

Pete

I called them back. I was too scared too earlier due to my depression/anxiety but plucked up the courage.
Spoke to a lovely lady and she said everyone gets the form after appeal and it's just to check if I've been living in the country and if I've had any hospital stays and to make sure they have my up to date bank details etc

PHEW!

I can relax again now, I told the lady how much it had panicked me and she was lovely and explained it all and I feel a lot better now!

Thank you Pete!
