How long after submiting appeal papers....

How long after submiting a request for appeal/GL24 form should hear some kind of aknowlagement or response from dwp? i sent my request to appeal on the 25/10/2010 via speacial delvery which was deliver on the 26.

im just wondering when i will hear something back?

all that signing for it means is its in the post room its the following day sometimes 2 before the section dealing with it gets it, they will update your computer record to show your requestin then start the ball rolling

I would expect that by now if you call the help line they should show your request on the screen, and might be able to give you some idea as to time scales

Hi Jox

You should receive an acknowledgement from the DWP after about a week. It can take anything up to 3 to 4 months to receive your appeal papers, when the case passes over to appeal.

If you haven't received a reply from DWP, I would suggest that you give them a ring to check that it's been received.

just to update recived a letter todau saying thank you for your request to appeal we are looking at all the information we have if you do not hear back from us in 11 weeks ring us.

This is on behalf of a friend shes already had 2 reconsidertions before it she asked for an appeal, we are hoping its reconsiderd one more time as we feel we have now sunmited enough information this time. if not it will be along wait for the appeal i guess.
