it is ironic that this so called coalition governments changes to the esa descriptors will men virtually no one with mental health will make the support group as well as physical illnesses

this is so devious and under handed I cannot express the fury I feel about, plus it has made me more ill, my anxiety is sky high !

I know the feeling, I'm the same.

There is still a little time left before this change becomes law, and so we dont know for sure, plus Professor Harrington (I'm not holding my breath) is due to report on the ESA tests and assessment, whether he encourages a relaxation or otherwise of support group and other descriptors we will have to wait and see

The Government and the media are driving those witgh mental health conditions to despair beyond the struggles that have daily. It is a rather sinister calibration of claimant expectations and societies perceptions as regards how to treat those with problems, in an increasingly insecure and stressful workplace and job market, when they (those with the mental health problems) face a almost and in many cases actually so, impossible task to get any work which they might be able to manage

I suggest people with mental health problems do read the ESA guides available on the site. There are still chances to score enough points even on the stricter test. More than ever, it is vital to fully complete the ESA form linking your condition to the descriptors. This will be important evidence if you do need to appeal.
Also be fully prepared for the medical and try to link every answer you give back to the form and the descriptors. Although many appeals are won because of ATOS reports being below standard, I do know people who failed the medical simply by not presenting their condition in the right terms.
