ESA Assessment Rate!!

Hi all can anyone tell me please if they have managed to get ESA at the assessment rate while waiting for their Appeal. I have tried, filled a new claims form in for ESA and have been refused. Made so many phone calls i have lost count & just keep getting different information.Thankyou

Hi,

You can only claim ESA at assessment rate if your appeal is based on not scoring enough points at the Work Capability Assessment. If your appeal is for any other reason (such as over NI Contributions for example, or for Income Based ESA having income or capital allegedly over the thresholds) then Assessment Rate is not payable pending appeal.

If it is regarding not scoring the requisite points at the WCA, have you informed them you wish to appeal (usually by sending in a Form GL24, with sick notes to cover the period). If you have done this what reason have they given for declining to pay assessment rate?

I failed my ATOS assessment and am on the support level of ESA until my appeal.

I didnt score enough points at the WCA. Yes i have sent in my GL24 Form. At the moment i am waiting for a date for my appeal, which wont be at least till March 2011.I was declined ESA because i have not paid or been credited with enough National Insurance Contributions. I was on Incapacity benefit before from 2003.

Hi Rachel what did you do to get on the support level of ESA until your appeal?

Does this mean you have been placed in the Support Group. And, if you have did you need to appeal it? I didn't think you needed to appeal if you were placed in the Support Group?
