Hi David,
Re: WCA50 medical assesment
I was waiting on my formal award letter which hasn't arrived. However yesterday 10/8/26 I received a ESA letter dated 31/7/26 exactly the same as the letter dated 27/7/26 I previously mentioned above. So another phone call to the DWP agent who said "she wouldn't have sent that letter out to me" What I'm struggling to get out of the DWP in writng is an award confirmation letter which at least mentions outcome of WCA decision makers conclusion, credits only, I no longer need to submit fit notes and review date from Jan'2028. I've been told I won't get such a letter!?! I will get class 1 credits and next year they said I will see credits in my P60 which they will sent out to me or I can look online in NI records now. I don't feel that I'm asking too much for this do you? I tried this new one gov site mentioned Benefits & works website, to see if I could download anything. I set up an account however the website that I need to verify myself was down yesterday evening. I will follow that up.
What's your Opinion David on Award letters for credits should I have received one more detailed than I've received so far? Instead of relying on a poor computer system churn out is it not possible for the decision maker to tweak the letter or do a manual one?
Re: Inaccuracies in my ESA85 report
I chased up for this as I know it was signed for on 28/7/26. It was sent to the decision maker however no comment back on the doc in their system. So the agent kindly forwarded it again requesting acknowledgement. ESA decision maker rang me late yesterday evening 10/8/26, he said I was in the support group. He said I need to send my letter to the WCA team if I don't agree, I referred him to the content plus that's where I started and they referred me to the DWP ESA team i said. (I feel like I'm going round in circles). I just thanked him for phoning and confirming it had reached a decision maker on my case as nothing has been updated to my records when I enquired earlier today from the agent. I don't have any further energy or time and I am assuming due to their workload Internally they are not reading everything or putting a simple comment on letters referred to them. I didn't put in for a pause or mandatory consideration as I agreed I should be in the support group.
Regards
Jane

Hi David,
Forgot to update to something you mentioned previously "Do you know if you qualify for the full old rate of the LCWRA element?
Is this something that should have come in the award letter and something that would be in the new one gov site , which I could find out once I get through ID verification?
Regards
Jane

Hi Jane
Thanks for your update. I'm sorry you have had so much trouble with the DWP.
At least you know now that you are in the ESA Support Group.
The LCWRA element is part of UC and you should qualify for this at the old higher rate if the start date of your ESA claim was prior to 6 April 2026.
Do you wish to claim UC?

Hi David,
Thank you.
Re: LCWRA
Yes my ESA claim was before April 26. I started it 13/10/25 online. Sorry can you briefly tell me why this could be relevant? I only applied for credits due to historical gaps in my NI records as I didn't no I should have applied when I medically lost my job 6 years ago.
Re: Audio Recording of Tele assessment
I've had to chase this as the 14 day turnaround didn't happen and it's ,3 weeks yesterday. Downside still will be another 14 days before I receive it in the post.
Whilst on the phone I asked them about notification of inaccuracies in the ESA 85 report. Specifically DWP decision maker saying I should send the letter to health assessment team Igenus. I specifically advised the decision maker they don't make the final decision and the letter is for the final decision maker DWP. Anyway they agreed with me DWP are wrong to tell me that. It's crazy DWP decision maker giving inaccurate information. More training needed. Going round in circles as DWP didn't even acknowledge the letter writing or phone.
One last thing please David. Should the DWP be sending a official award letter for credits only claim? As the paperwork has no confirmation thus far from the 2 letters received. I'm only getting information verbally over the phone.
Regards
Jane

Hi Jane
The ESA section of the DWP used to be notorious at sending out letters at the push of a button. Maybe they are trying to go digital like UC. Have you got a OneLogin account where you can usually download copies of letters? Here is a link:-
www.gov.uk/using-your-gov-uk-one-login
If you are not going to claim UC then the information about LCWRA isn't relevant.
Let us know how you get on.
