Psoriatic arthritis was created by Max55
Has anyone successfully claimed pip for psoriatic arthritis. Any help would be welcome. Husband has regular flairs and struggles to dress, wash. Medication makes him sick and he has reduced work to only a few days a week

Hi Max55
My other half successfully applied for PIP for psoriatic arthritis as his main condition. However he does have a lot of other medical problems as well which also impact him.
I would suggest if you apply for PIP to make sure you explain exactly how his condition affects him and meets the descriptors so you potentially score points eg. my other half has very poor grip due to the psoriatic arthritis (swollen sausage fingers etc) and struggles to do anything like opening bottles, cutting up food etc. which scored him points for cooking and preparing food.
I know fatigue is also a big issue which affects people with this condition so if your husband also suffers from this you can explain how it affects him.
Enclose copies of any medical letters sent to you which help explain the difficulties your husband has e.g. we have some letters from the rheumatologist which clearly explained what the doctor found on examination e.g. swollen joints, problems with poor grip etc. and intolerance to certain medications, side effects etc.
It doesn't matter if the letters are years old as that will prove he's had the condition for some time, and as you know, it is progressive.
Best of luck!
