RECORDING EQUIPMENT FOR ASSESSMENTS was created by Stuart9390
I will soon be having my PIP review assessment. I’ve heard some horror stories and people advising to record the assessment. I would like to record the assessment myself but having read loads of literature about what recording devices the assessors will/will not allow is confusing. I’ve read that they require a copy of a CD or tape at the end of the assessment.

Can anyone recommend a recording device that I can purchase that they have used to fulfil the assessment centre requirements?

Thanks

Stuart

Hi Stuart

I'm afraid we are not able to advise on any sort of equipment. I don't know whether anyone has used equipment in a face to face interview because so few have been done recently. In the past, you had to take two tape recorders, and so two recordings could be made simultaneously and the claimant kept one and the assessor kept one.

Now many assessments are done on the telephone - I assume people record on their phone or on a laptop and keep it for their own use. Claimants can still request for the assessor to make a recording, but we always advise claimants to make their own - jut in case something goes wrong with an official recording.
