Recording a telephone assesment was created by BitsOf
My apologies if this has been asked and answered already. I couldn't find anything on a search of the forum.
I have a telephone assesment this week for wca and then in 10 days time for my pip reassessment.
The pip letter doesn't say I have to give notice of recording but the wca one does. Firstly is this correct.
Also can anybody recommend a suitable phone app for doing this or am I better using a standalone device?
My anxiety is through the roof at this point
Any advice appreciated.

Hi BitsOf
You are best advised to use your own recording equipment and not to inform the DWP that you are making a recording.
In the past Benefits claimants have submitted the form to the DWP requesting that the interview be recorded but then on the day they are told that the equipment has faulted or that their request hasn't been processed yet.
As for recommendations about Apps or equipment you would be best advised by other Forum members.
Hope this helps

So today was my wca assesment
They rang 30 mins before the time to say the call would be 'up to' ten minutes late.
35 minutes after the app time we rang the helpline and explained the person with me had to leave in 1hr10m
She chased it up and said the call was on its way.
20 minutes later they rang. We explained my person had to leave in 50 minutes and she said she was sorry but she didn't think that was long enough.
I was/am in pieces my anxiety has been through the roof this week, I've not been sleeping my fatigue unmanageable and my pain levels rocketed.
Am I paranoid to think theses things are done intentionally.

Hi BitsOf
Other members have narrated similar experiences. At least you received a courtesy call about the delay.
A client of mine has just had to endure a 2 hour telephone interview even though they knew he has a diagnosed mental health condition. I don't think it's done intentionally but shows the assessors have little empathy and are focused on their work targets.
