I mow a friend's lawn one hour per week. Does the DWP define someone who works for themselves as self-Employed? Whether that be the obvious, with a self employed business, or like me doing a friend's lawn 1 hour a week.
It is the HMRC which makes that decision. The DWP have their own rules regarding " Gainful Self Employment". All earnings have to be reported under UC but you will not be considered to be Gainfully Self Employed.
