Home visit for ESA to UC managed migration

What's the actual process!?
I cannot get a home visit!!
I managed to get a month's extension
I have one week left on that !!
At the same time as the extension I requested a home visit and was assured this information would be passed to the relevant team.

I'm now traumatized and afraid of loosing my claim after today's phone calls to the DWP.

I received a phone call which the caller ended before starting..

It has now taken me over 2 hours to try and sort something out.
First call I made, a northern Ireland call centre,, she had zero idea of why I was being rang by the DWP.
And told me I cannot have a home visit to start my claim .
Passed me to the jobcentre where a robot ended the call.
I rang again, and was given jobcentre numbers and told the call this morning was a check to make sure I'm still around! Eh 🤔

And that there are no home visits to make a claim just a welfare visit to tell me what to do or where to go to make a UC claim.
And I would be best to make a phone claim or contact the JC for advice!!

The phone claim can take up to 30 mins
I would be hard pressed to cope with that length of time,
I also expressed that to the call handler.

I argued that I'm virtually housebound, conditions since birth,, on the managed migration and the DWP/ESA department hold all this information re home visits .

( Just to note the first time I rang them for the extension, on and off it took over a month to get it,, I was given the run around, spoke to several call handlers in the UC department before being granted permission to speak with a manager.. Not one of them were professional!
And I was left wondering who needed help more them or myself!

Hi cats6

Universal Credit Managed Migration is a matter of concern for a lot of members of the Benefits and Work forum.

Are you aware of the assistance you can get from the Citizens Advice Help to Claim service?

Here is a description from one of our members.
