DLA after pension age was created by SadieMc81
Hi, I have an uncle who was born in 1950 and he is currently receiving DLA Low rate care. He receives pension credit and Housing benefit and his state pension. His health needs have changed significantly so he was going to tell DLA that his circumstances had changed. However when I am reading about things it seems to suggest he may have to apply to PIP ? Am I reading info wrong? Can he inform that his care needs are more, and if so, does it risk his award he has already?
thanks for any help

Hi SadieMc81

Your Uncle needs to contact DLA and report a change of circumstances, as he is now state pension age he will not be able to change his mobility component but he can if eligible get the middle rate or high rate component.

There is a risk to the award he already has, we would advise him to seek advice from from his local Welfare Rights Organisation.
