Please can I ask your opinion on the descriptor 'can not undertake any journey because it would cause overwhelming pschological distress to the claimant' . I am asking for someone else - does the 50% rule apply still? I mean this person I think might manage leaving the house for a journey once a week, but not the rest of the week due to opd. Would this score do you think?
I have answered you question in your previous post.
Anything that limits a descriptor activity for the majority of days will allow points under the relevant section. (If they have a really good day, or just push themself hard and can do something once in a while or even a couple of days per week this won't matter as it's not the majority pattern) Now have a think about whether they can fulfil all the following 4 criteria
1. Safety 2. Acceptable standard 3. Taking more than twice a non disabled person would to complete the activity 4. Being able to repeat across the day as required (some activities such as communicating or toilet needs will occur more often than eg bathing)
If you are still struggling to work out which descriptor might apply, write a disability diary.
