Hi all My wife is in receipt of non income related ESA Support Group and has a very small pension that she wants to exercise and then withdraw the whole lump sum, around 13k. Her concern is that this may detrimentally affect her ESA payment. If she withdraws this lump sum she won't be in receipt of a pension as well. Do you think it's ok to withdraw this pension without it affecting her ESA ? Its a bit of a minefield so any help would be appreciated.
Do you receive any means tested Benefits such as Housing Benefit or Council Tax Reduction? If so they will be affected by the lump sum. If you only receive Contributions Based ESA then it is not affected by the lump sum.
