Posting on behalf of a family member. Hi, I am migrating from ESA to UC. I have been on ESA for many years and was in the support group so have never needed to look for work due to ill health. I filled out the forms for UC correctly following guidance from this website but I was asked to provide a fit note and have had a work search telephone interview booked. I contacted the work coach a week ago and they said they would ask the case manager to look into this. I am not able to use the telephone so unable to attend the appointment but the job coach has said I can use the journal to communicate for the appointment instead. I have had a family member help with posting on my journal but I am not sure what I am supposed to do in a work search appointment as I have never been able to work so have never searched. Hoping someone can give me some advice?
You need to send the Work Coach a message saying that you are considering complaining to your Jobcentre District Manager because Support Group claimants should not be asked to look for work or prepare for work. You can send the message on the UC Journal.
